WTB: Does writing energize or exhaust you?
Dawson: What a great question! Honestly it does both. When I’m writing a certain segment, I’m super amped up and excited but the process can be taxing leaving me to feel drained and exhausted.
WTB: If you could tell your younger writing self anything, what would it be?
Dawson: It would be to write Sci-fi,don’t allow society norms to dictate what type of writer you are.
WTB: What is your favorite childhood book?
Dawson: P.D Eastman “Are you my mother” I was so obsessed with this book and The Baby Sitters Club series by Anne Martin.
WTB: What is the most difficult part of your artistic process?
Dawson: Separating the thoughts and emotions of my characters from myself. I want each character to have their own voice.
WTB: Do you hide any secrets in your books that only a few people will find?
Dawson: Yes, I so do love Easter eggs and I do plant a few in my upcoming novel “The Chronicles Of Brute Creations” now available for pre-order.
